Hi!
I’m Stephanie Hill, a Clinical Psychologist and Coach with a passion for helping achievement-oriented women to find the balance and authentic attunement to themselves that they truly deserve. For many women, this connection to themselves and their own needs has been lost throughout their lives as they became conditioned to over-focus on what other people think, need, or expect of them. And this has led to patterns of seeking external validation, judging their worth by their achievements, or feeling utterly depleted by patterns of self-sacrificing for those around them.
I speak from both my training and my own life experiences. I hold a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Psychology, a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a Master of Psychology (Clinical). I also run my own private psychology practice on Sydney’s North Shore. And I definitely know what it is like to juggle competing demands – having navigated two out of these three degrees and set up my practice whilst simultaneously raising my 3 young kids!
The Insightful Empowerment Institute came to light as a result of my passion and commitment to helping people let go of the mindset, patterns, and barriers that keep them stuck; so that they can instead rise up into their own authenticity. Whilst I LOVE individual therapy, and have no plans to cease this any time soon, I had started to notice how many clients, friends, family, and peers struggle with similar issues of doubting themselves, self-sacrificing their own needs, or basing their self-worth on their achievements or what other people think of them! And I just knew that meant there must an even larger group of people out there feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, trapped or resentful – questioning why they’re working so hard to build a life they don’t even have time to enjoy!
And guess what – this was me too! There was a time in my life I was stuck in a job that I HATED that didn’t suit my personality or temperament, yet I felt trapped and miserable. I didn’t have the confidence to make the change, so I stayed for YEARS beyond what was helpful for me. And that was only the tip of the iceberg.
In the many years since, I’ve been on a journey of self-reflection, personal and professional development, formal training, and ongoing research into so many fascinating areas of psychology that align with my mission! This has helped me to recognise how many of my patterns were holding me back from living my best life! I’ve also learned how to harness some powerful skills and strategies to ensure I am aligning myself with a life that really feels meaningful, and that’s why I’m passionate about sharing this with others who are facing similar “stuckness” in their lives.
I’m so excited about moving into the online space and what I’m hoping to build moving forward. Rather than being limited by the traditional one-to-one therapy model of only seeing a small caseload individually, my hope is that through The Insightful Empowerment Institute, I can offer Education, Online Resources, Group Coaching, and one day build a community of likeminded individuals, so that together we can bring about meaningful change and break through these barriers that keep so many of us stuck in a life that feels unfulfilling or inauthentic.
The Insightful Empowerment Institute is an opportunity for insightful, passionate, achievement-oriented women to benefit from the training and experience of a psychologist in accessing non-clinical services. This is not “treatment” or “therapy”. Instead, through The Insightful Empowerment Institute, I will be embracing my capacity to provide services designed to help passionate, achievement-oriented people to find the balance, harmony and authentic confidence they’re searching for so that they can THRIVE professionally and personally!
It is of the utmost importance to us that we attract and work with the right kind of people who are going to align with our mission. It is likely that our courses, resources, downloads and webinars will be of interest to you if some or most of the following apply:
You have a vision of the kind of life you want to be living but feel stuck. You might be hindered by self-doubt, lack of confidence, or being too busy meeting other people’s needs to meet your own!
You have worked hard to build the life you currently have, but don’t feel able to relax or enjoy it.
You can act confident, but deep down you’re very sensitive to criticism, rejection, or conflict.
You frequently compare yourself to others, triggering insecurity, pressure, or feelings of inadequacy.
You are driven, passionate and achievement-oriented – You’re constantly striving for “More” but often feel you aren’t able to enjoy your achievements because you’re always focusing on the next thing you have to accomplish.
You’re a deep-thinker, with innate curiosity, and a love of learning, but sometimes find it hard to translate your knowledge into consistent actions.
You swing between feeling confident, empowered, and energised, to feeling overwhelmed or doubting yourself.
You struggle to make decisions and find yourself stuck in “analysis-paralysis”.
You say “Yes” to things you don’t really want to do, and then feel frustrated, resentful or trapped.
When you do say “No” you often feel guilty, even though logically you know you haven’t done anything wrong.
You often catch yourself overcompensating. Trying too hard or doing too much. This might show up in relationships, friendships, work, or parenting.
You recognise your self-esteem and confidence often depends on what other people think of you
Your biggest priority in life is deep connections. Your crave an authentic, connected, relationship with both yourself and those you care about, but often don’t know how to prioritise or cultivate it with consistence.
