Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's).

Do You Offer One-on-One Coaching?
At this stage, Insightful Empowerment is not currently accepting new one-on-one coaching clients.
In the future, one-on-one coaching availability may be also added to our services, so please join our email list to be notified of any developments in this regard!
Can I do Your Courses as a Substitute for Therapy?
No. Our Courses, Group Coaching Programs, Resources, and Downloadable Materials do not constitute therapy, and should not be used as a substitute for it.
Despite Stephanie holding registration as a Clinical Psychologist, any services provided through The Insightful Empowerment Institute are completely separate to those which she offers clients as part of a therapeutic framework.
At The Insightful Empowerment Institute Stephanie is not operating in her capacity as a psychologist offering treatment or therapy, and is instead utilising her knowledge and training to offer educational resources, coaching, and skills training, via self-paced courses and group programs.
These things are not a replacement or substitution for therapy.
Please be aware, that if you are experiencing a mental health condition or clinically significant levels of distress, our courses are unlikely to be suitable for you at the present time, and we would instead recommend you reach out to your GP, or find a Psychologist to ensure you get the appropriate level of support needed.
If I've Realised I Need a Psychologist Instead of One of Your Programs. How Do I Access One?
This will depend on your country of residence. The Insightful Empowerment Institute is an Australian Business, and therefore the following is based upon local information.
In Australia, client’s generally have the right to choose their own psychologist, which means you can simply google psychologists in your area, and contact any whose website or profiles resonates with you. Alternatively, you can make an appointment with your GP, and they will be able to refer you to a psychologist, either of your choosing, or one which they recommend. If eligible, you may then be able to access medicare rebates for sessions providing you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan or equivalent.
Alternatively, there are a number of free online directories you can search. One of these is the Australian Psychological Society (APS)’s “Find a Psychologist Directory”, and another is the Psychology Today directory. Both can be easily found by googling those terms.
If you wish to enquire about seeing Stephanie as a Clinical Psychologist for individual therapy, please click on the link below to be directed to her psychology practice website.
If you are not based in Australia, please consult your local health services for guidance.
If I see Stephanie as a Psychologist, Can I Sign Up to One of Her Courses or Group Coaching Programs?
Stephanie is extremely focused on abiding by her code of ethics. Some of these can be quite complex, and relate to your rights to things like confidentiality and autonomy, as well as Stephanie’s obligation to minimise dual relationships that may harm you, or leave you feeling under any influence to pay for services that are unlikely to benefit you.
If you are a current or recent client, please raise your query with Stephanie directly so that she can explore whether the courses or programs are appropriate or suitable, and ensure you’re supported in making a decision that aligns with your best interests and needs.
If you are a past client and are unsure about whether our programs are suitable, please email us at hello@insightfulempowerment.com to clarify further before signing up to any of our courses.
What's The Difference Between Psychology and Coaching?
Psychological therapy is largely designed to be a form of treatment, whereby the goals may include alleviating symptoms of distress, creating insight, processing past traumas, or working through evidence-based interventions to address mental health concerns. It can also be focused around helping people to navigate transitions, reduce suffering, manage stress, adjust to life circumstances, or improve their functioning.
Whilst people without diagnosable mental health conditions are welcome to engage in therapy to explore any issues, gain a deep level of insight, or develop skills or support to achieve their goals, it is not recommended the other way around. Generally, people with current mental health conditions (or clinically significant levels of distress) would require a greater level of support and a specific therapeutic framework that cannot be provided by coaching alone.
Coaching is designed to support people who are ALREADY mentally well. It may be targeted towards helping people to thrive and meet their fullest potential, or towards helping people manage everyday life stressors, improve performance, learn new skills, or achieve specific goals.
Whilst there is some crossover between what can unfold during coaching and therapy, please note, that any engagement with Stephanie through The Insightful Empowerment Institute will not constitute a therapeutic relationship, and will not include any therapy being provided to you.
